THE BIG 50

So I have lost 50 lbs so far. I feel wonderful and am moving like I was 35 again. Life is good I am welcoming the Holidays for the first time since I lost Mom & Dad six years ago. All the shopping is done, gifts a wrapped. I have done most of the Christmas Eve Cooking so Now It's Let Party.

Lap-Band

As you know by now I did the Lap-Band on June 10th . So far my weight loss has been 40 lbs and still counting.I have had three fills every time I get one it gets more difficult don't get me wrong I am thrilled out of my mind. This whole thing has been a life saver.
My blood pressure has lowered and my doctor is going to reduce m medication by my next visit. I feel great and have more energy. To anyone who is thinking about this surgery JUST DO IT

Camp Is set up in Vermont

Well I finally got the camp set up in Vt. It looks great, I found a great tent 15x16. It is set in the back field just before the woods so there is lots of shade during the day. The other day we sat out a night with the lanterns lit and the tiki touches ablaze when all of a sudden Ken looked up and pointed out the bats flying around above us. It may sound crazy to have bats flying above you at night but it was truly a site. It was a full moon and above the trees were the bats coming out of the barn. It had an eerie and strange look about it, but in truth a wonderful look at nature. They are harmless. When I pitched the tent I did it on an incline so I did roll out of bed a few times so next week I will move the tent over a few yards an level it off. It truly is a wonderful retreat.

Lap Band Instauled

Well I did it the Lap Band was done on June 10th. I can't tell you how much better I feel already.
My Sleep has returned to normal no getting up 4 or 5 times a night and off to the bathroom. I have dropped 23 lbs in three weeks and it is still coming off. I will go in for my first fill in two weeks then the real weight loss begins. I will keep you all posted.

Tests and more Tests

I have been planning this surgery since February 10th and we are now at the home stretch. I did Pulmonary on Monday Extended Stress Test on Friday. On Tuesday I head to Newport Hospital for yet another Sleep Study overnight. I am still not done, but I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. On May 13th I will be taking all the last tests at Rhode Island Hospital. With all my tests done I will get my Surgery date. Let's just hope is will be soon. All in all 10 tests.

Hospital Tonight

I am off to Newport Hospital tonight for my second sleep study. The first one was last Thursday I must have had thirty wires on my head arms and legs. Then they say now go to sleep.It was not that bad I did fall a sleep. When I was awakened at 5:00 am I had only really slept for about 5 hours. Tonight I just have to where an air mask. I will fill you all in Friday morning....Good Night

Friday

Well here we are on Friday morning looks like rain today. We have had so much rain in the past weeks and the last few day were wonderful.
I was driving though West Warwick last week only to find that these poor people had all there belongings on the curb for the trash man. You could tell by the sofas and mattress it was a low income area, really so sad. I am sure these people did not have insurance. It broke my heart.

Building an Ark

I am off to Home Depot for lumber to build an Ark. This rain has just got to stop sometime soon. When will it end? So everyone come one and all two by two Drinks on the Lido Deck....

Rose Island Over Night

The Boat picked us up on Goat Island around 10:00 am there we were with bag and baggage. You might think we were going for week not just one night. My Gal Pals Deb.Nicole Marsha and Me Stepped back in time to about 1890 and were lighthouse Keepers for one night. First and most important was the Bloody Mary's. Then a walk around the Island how wonderful that was the seals were coming right up the boat as we arrived on the dock. we returned to the lighthouse an sat on the Adirondacks chairs over looking the cliff just great. Marsh brought out the cheese and crackers dip's and chips It was heaven. After an afternoon nap I got up to get dinner ready for the girls. I wonderful night with no TV just old stories and good friend Everone should do this before you die.
It is a must.. I am already thinking of a great summer party at the lighthouse for all my good friends. Its Just the thyme I am trying to come up with...be sure it will come to me.

Light House Overnight

I am off to Providence today to get ready for our over night on the Rose Island Light House. My Gal Pal Deb and I are getting the food ready. Marsha my other Gal-Pal is gathering the wine and Vodka with some snacks.We are spending the night at the Light House, We get to turn on the Light at dusk. The launch will pick us up on Goat Island at 10:00 am and return us 10:00 am the next day. Looks and sounds like a great time.

Family Dinner Tonight

Tonight is our family dinner for my two nephews one 16 and the other is 9 it is both there Birthdays. I look forward to theses times with family . As an only child for 14 years having a brother and sister now was worth all the baby sitting I did back in the day. Cheers Kyle and Alex

T.G.I.F

Thank God it's Friday even though I only worked two days. The Hotel is a-buzz with people getting ready for the Summer season. Fresh paint cleaned carpets and windows, all the comforter were sent out to be cleaned also.The Chef is whipping up a new summer Menu....All is good

Back to Work

Today is my last day of sick leave as I am going back tomorrow. I will be working a very lite schedule for a while. I am looking forward to getting back into it and being more social. Lots of changes at work all for the good. The times that I have visited everyone seems to be very happy.
So today I will get some sun.

FrIday

Well it's Friday and the weekend us upon us. St Patrick's Day parade tomorrow and it's going to rain. All those Irish people down the Thames Street in green, wet and drunk I can't wait.

Good News

Just got the call from Dr. Roye I am going in for the Lap Band Surgery. This is the beginning of my re-construction. I am a little nervous but excited about this operation. This needs to be done as the first step to getting healthy and fit.

Lots to Do

Off to Providence today. Lots to do... Water plants at AARP and then off to Floral Wholesale for plants for the Chanler Hotel...Looks like rain today and for most of the weekend. I think the Newport St. Patrick's Day Parade will be a wash out..Nothing more pitiful than an wet and soggy drunk Irishman.....I look forward to Deanna's Guinness soaked Corn beef and cabbage on Saturday... after the parade

Walking Down to the Beach

Today is my first day under construction. I did C orn Flakes with 2% milk and splenda. Now off to the beach for a walk. Looks like rain for the rest of the week so I should get out there an walk today.

My New Journey to a New Life

Today we start my new life. I am under construction for the next year. Health, Body and Mind, It is your choice to join me on my journey to a new and better self. I need to do this for me and know one else. I look forward to posting everyday to some day look back and see my progress.
